UPPSC Exam Pattern
UPPSC The PCS Exam Pattern is as follows, through the table below you can get detailed information about its exam pattern –
The UPPSC prelims consists of two papers –
- Paper I Paper II, both the papers will be of 200 marks each with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The examination day will be held, and the duration of both the papers will be 2 hours.
- There will be a negative marking of 0.33% for each wrong answer
- As such, if the maximum marks allotted for a question is 2, then 0.66 marks will be deducted if it is answered incorrectly
- There is no negative marking to leave the question blank.
- Paper 2 (CSAT) UPPCS/ The PCS Pre Paper has a qualifying paper, in which candidates have to score a minimum of 33% marks.

UPPSC PCS Mains Exam Pattern
The UPPSC PCS Mains Exam Pattern is given below. The marks obtained in this examination will be considered for selection of candidates as final. The UPPSC Mains exam comprises eight descriptive papers. The duration of the exam for each paper will be 3 hours.

General Studies Paper l
- Occasional events of national and international importance.
- History of India and Indian National Movement – Geography of India and the World – The physical, social and economic geography of India and the world.
- Indian Politics and Governance – Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Official Issues
- (Rights Issues) etc.
- Economic and Social Development: Sustainable development, poverty, underlying demographic, social sector initiatives etc.
- General topics on environment and ecology, biodiversity and climate change Do not require subject expertise in this subject • Occasional events of national and international importance: contemporary of national and international importance.
General Science – UPPSC Syllabus
- Candidates will have to keep information on the events.
- The history of India and the Indian National Movement, history, will have to pay special attention to the broad knowledge of the social, economic and political aspects of Indian history.
- On the Indian National Movement, the candidates are required to know the nature and character of the freedom movement, the abetment of nationalism and general knowledge about the attainment of independence.
- Geography of India and the World: The Physical, Social and Economic Geography of India and the World: | in World Geography Only general information on the subject will be tested. The Geography of India will consist of questions related to the physical, social and economic geography of the country.
- Indian politics and governance- Constitution, political system, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Official Affairs, etc.
- Under the Indian polity, economy and culture, there will be questions on the knowledge of the political system, including panchayati raj and community development of the country, and the broad features of India’s economic policy and the knowledge of Indian culture.
- Economic and Social Development: Sustainable development, poverty-covered demographic, social sector initiatives, etc., the information of the candidates will be tested in the context of population, environment and urbanization problems and their relationships.
General topics of environment and ecology, biodiversity and climate change
- There is no need for subject matter expertise in this regard. General knowledge of the subject is required from the candidates.
- General Science: General Science questions will be based on the general knowledge and knowledge of science including the subjects related to daily experience and observation.
- Which can be expected from any well-educated person who has not made special studies of scientific disciplines. | Note: Candidates will be required to have a general introduction to the above subjects in the particular perspective of Uttar Pradesh.
